The Broad contemporary art museum is a relatively new addition to the Downtown LA area. The museum offers free admission to its impressive permanent collection. There’s plenty for visitors to appreciate – its amazing 2,000 post-war contemporary works, the building’s memorable structure as well as the surreal Infinity Mirror Rooms (be sure to register on the sign-up sheet after you have your general admission ticket). After browsing The Broad, you can grab some great selfies amongst the lovely olive tree grove that sits in front of Otium, the museum’s signature restaurant.
Continue your modern art journey with a visit to the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA). While there is usually a charge for entry, every Thursday between 5-8pm, the MOCA offers complimentary entry to the public. If you’re on a budget this a great way to experience LA’s premier contemporary art museum – home to almost 5,000 post-1940’s works- a modern art lover’s delight!
